1st week: loading
2nd week: firing
3rd week: unload and load
4th week: firing
That means we have our pots ready (bisqued and glazed) before the first week. Loaded and let the pots sit in the kiln for a week. Had Cara turn on the kiln @ 5am the following week, hoping it will reach as least cone 9 by 3pm-6pm meet time. So, we could put the soda ash + baking soda in. Then had Justin/ Courtney turned the gas down/ off @ 9pm/ midnight or 3am. Go home, make more pots, bisqued and glazed, come back the next week, unload and load right away. Repeat....
Put up the brick door after loading.
Second firing opening.
Matt, Justin's new apprentice, came along to help/see the unloading. Clay is not the only thing that tie them together. You got to hear them talk fishing.......
